Won't be home till the weekend so i wont be around a computer much 'till then, but I just wanted to give my thanks to Mike and Tootka (hope I spelled that right

) I had an incredible time and I'm pretty sure everyone that was there did, too. Something VERY exiting happened to me... I was taking to Deach (way prettier in person, BTW), and I asked him if he thought a well worn, but obviously well loved old banjo uke that someone was selling was a good buy because I was thinking of getting it. Deach disappeared and a minute later he handed it to me and said it was mine

I was floored. I think I humped his leg. Thank you, Deach. I wish you could have stayed longer. I really appreciate the effort you went through to make it out there for the short time you were there. People that couldn't make it, Ken, Baron, Mctrmt (I wore my P.A.A. shirt on Fri.), Yoppy, Doogey9, Link, Unclejeff, I bet your ears were ringing all weekend because most of the conversations I heard were about how we wished you guys would have been able to come and how awesome you guys are.

Great meeting everyone. Thanks to the very nice locals, you guys were great. I love you all.

P.S. pictures of my new uke once I get back to NY
P.P.S. Russ is like a rooster and like 2 little thumbs sticking out of the hot tub. FTA. Drawings of that soon.

i uploaded them onto flickr, you can download one you like by pressing the "all sizes' button and then choosing what size you wanna download! they're pretty good quality and all too!

there's about 90 that i put up and i figure if you really wanna download some of them you'll probably only want a few but if for some reason you want all of them, PM and I'll make a folder over sendspace.com for ya!

anyway, the congress was more fun than i have had in FOREVER. all of you people are BEAUTIFUL and it was a great time.

It appears to have taken two days for me to get home from the WUC. Not sure where I was all that time, but I recall a having dinner with Seeso in Chicago Sunday and having my feet in Lake Michigan yesterday. Scary thing is that Krabbers made it back to London before I made it the two-and-a-half hour drive home.

I downloaded 20 gigs of video off my camera last night and hope to start posting it today. This was truly a mythical event where I got to meet legends. Hoosierhiver, our host, almost ODed on joy at how well it went. To quote him "I swear I'm gonna see unicorns walk out of that woods at any minute." Special thanks to Tookta, Mrs. Hoosierhiver, who went well above and beyond the call duty and pretty much worked non-stop from the middle of last week through Sunday to make this all happen. And her Veg Thai Curry at the potluck totally killed.

The following urban legends from the WUC have not been substantiated:

Deach did not arrive, but instead manifested.
RussbusBeNimble jumped the bonfire.
It was so cold we burned ukes for firewood.
Someone performed a Prince song without written consent of Major League Baseball.
Coyotes encircled the soundstage and wouldn't leave until we let them sit in.
A competing Ukulele House of Representatives was held nearby.

Next years congress will be bigger, but this one couldn't have gone more perfectly. It was great to lose the virtuality for the weekend and see everyone there live. To anyone who missed it, I hope you can make it next year.
