A good time was had by all. We had six people again. Three return guys and three new guys.

I brought along some chorded songs and used that as our way of keeping us moving. Getting together with other ukulele players sure made for a good afternoon. We went 2 1/2 hours. Not too shabby.

December will be a busy month because of the holidays so we'll only be able to work in one scheduled meeting. If we can get a few more people, we can set a regular weekly day and time. Until then, we'll go with twice a month.

Anyone who wants to know more should just PM me and I'll fill you in.

Sounds like a successful, fun time! Y'all must have played 20+ songs in that amount of time. Ric

Next date is set at Sunday December 13, NOON to 2PM. The time is slightly earlier due to scheduling constraints at Guitar Merchant.

Ric - We're still getting acquainted and have zero experience with conducting a group, so I led us through six or eight songs. We'd strum the song then work on it until we thought the rhythm and structure worked right. Then we'd move on.

After the holidays, we'll get a regular routine established and have more constructive meets. As it is, it's plenty good to just have other folks playing in the same room.

We're on for Sunday December 13 at Guitar Merchant, NOON to 2.

7503 Topanga Canyon Boulevard, Canoga Park 91303, 818-884-5905, PM me if you need specific directions.

This group is still getting to know our way around and while our time is structured, we're big on you bringing in a song, short technique, or instrument for show and tell. Alan's Moonlight Bay was great - I almost have it down.

Guitar Merchant opens at noon on Sundays so we'll be the first ones in. That translates to: be prepared for a chilly big room.

I will be there. Sorry I missed the last meeting. Should I be learning Moonlight Bay? Is it a tab, or chord chart? Sounds like an interesting arrangement if you are still working on it. Can you email it to me?
    Thanks

He got it from TheUke.com site. Here's a link, you can select Moonlight Bay and go from there. Pick out the notes, then strum on the F chords.

http://www.theuke.com/download.php?list.2 There's an MP3 file on the site as well.

Nice meeting today! Thanks to Harold for bringing the hand-outs, and even though we didn't play "Linus and Lucy", I think it will be a lot of fun to learn. I think it is one of those that you have to work on a bit before you can play it in group.
